First Time User Registration for EVMS Interlibrary Loan Service

ILLiad is Eastern Virginia Medical School Library's request tracking and delivery system for Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery.

Requests from our collection
ILLiad service for books and document delivery from the EVMS library collection is available to:

  • Community/Preceptor Faculty
  • Faculty
  • Interns/Residents/Fellows
  • Students
  • Staff
  • Courtesy Clients
  • Subscription Clients

Fees
EVMS Library Staff will fill requests from our own collection at a cost of $0.15 per page, billable to the account you designate.

Requests via Interlibrary Loan
When the EVMS Library does not own the item needed, the request will be obtained from another library if possible. ILLiad service for Interlibrary Loan is limited to:

  • Community/Preceptor Faculty
  • Faculty
  • Interns/Residents/Fellows
  • Students
  • Staff

Fees
We may be able to obtain articles or books at no cost. Any fees from the library will be billed to your designated account. Fees generally range from $9.00 to $15.00. Interlibrary Loan users may specify a maximum acceptable cost on each article or book requested.

To request an item through ILLiad, you must first be a registered library user as an EVMS associate or as a non-EVMS client. Completed registrations can be returned to the EVMS Circulation desk during Staffed Hours, emailed to illiad@evms.edu, or faxed to (757) 446-5134.

Registration has three purposes:

  • Entering your personal information into the ILLiad system means you will not have to supply the information again when making future requests.
  • Having your e-mail and regular mail addresses on file with Interlibrary Loan enables us to notify you promptly and deliver materials accurately when your request arrives in the library.
  • By specifying a Username and Password of your choosing, you will have secure access to information about your requests. You will also be able to review the list of items you have requested in the past.

About your Username and Password

During registration, you will be asked to choose a Username and Password. You will use this Username and Password when logging on to the ILLiad system.

Username
We recomend using your EVMS user name or email. It this not required but it helps our staff. Users can choose anything you like.

Password
Choose anything you like, but please note that passwords are case sensitive. Only you will know your password.
If you should forget your password, you will have the opportunity to reset it.
